Dr. Sterling M. Roberts, a native of New Orleans and graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, is a dedicated pediatric dentist, educator, and community leader. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University in 2009 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of
Dr. Sterling M. Roberts, a native of New Orleans and graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, is a dedicated pediatric dentist, educator, and community leader. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University in 2009 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2015, where she served as President of the Student National Dental Association and mentored aspiring pre-dental students.
Dr. Roberts completed her postdoctoral training in Pediatric Dentistry at New York University in 2017. Her commitment to global and community health is reflected in her outreach work in Jamaica and Nepal, as well as her local initiatives to expand access to pediatric dental care across Louisiana.
Since joining the LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry in 2021, Dr. Roberts has advanced to serve as Program Director of Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry and Assistant Professor. Her leadership emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based care, resident mentorship, and community service.
Dr. Roberts continues to dedicate her career to improving oral health outcomes for children and families while inspiring the next generation of dental leaders through education, advocacy, and service.
Dr. Roberts is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of both the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the American College of Dentists. She is also a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Education Associatio
Dr. Roberts is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of both the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the American College of Dentists. She is also a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Education Association, and the National Dental Association.
A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Dr. Roberts is deeply committed to service, mentorship, and advancing diversity in dentistry. She is the Founder of the New Orleans Black Dental Network, a nonprofit organization that supports professional growth, community engagement, and access to care within the New Orleans dental community.
Dr. Roberts also serves as Trustee of the Southwestern District for the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and sits on the Advisory Council for DentaQuest Louisiana.
Dr. Roberts’ passion for caring for the community where she grew up has brought her back home to Louisiana!
